Sid Meier's Civilization VII is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam (which also supports Mac and Linux) and the Epic Games Store! 

We also announced Sid Meier's Civilization VII - VR, a distinct version of the game made exclusively for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, which will be available in Spring 2025. 

The Nintendo Switch version only supports the Duel, Tiny, and Small map sizes; it does not support map sizes of Standard and above. For cross-play multiplayer games with players on Nintendo Switch, these map size restrictions will apply.

Sid Meier's Civilization VII will feature audio and text localization in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese. Sid Meier's Civilization VII will feature text-only localization in Portuguese (Brazilian).

Sid Meier's Civilization VII is available in three editions: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and a limited-time Founders Edition. You can learn more about each edition and their contents in the FAQ entries further down this page.

The Xbox physical version of Sid Meier's Civilization VII utilizes a dual-binary disc that can be played in either a Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S to play that respective version of the game.

Yes! You can play digital versions of the Xbox One or PlayStation®4 version of Sid Meier's Civilization VII on your Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation®5 respectively, linked to the same account within the same console family.

Yes! You can play multiplayer with other players whether or not you own DLC leaders and civilizations. Note that you must own specific DLC leaders and civilizations if you yourself wish to play as them during multiplayer.

There may be times when we deploy a patch or hotfix to the PC version of the game for expediency before it can be applied to the console versions. As a result, crossplay between PC and consoles may be temporarily disabled. This will have no impact on console players attempting cross-platform play with other console players, nor on PC-to-PC multiplayer. Should this happen, we will work to amend as early as possible.

Yes, Sid Meier's Civilization VII features offline play for all single-player activities. Some features such as online multiplayer will not be available when playing offline. Sid Meier's Civilization VII does not offer hotseat multiplayer, but supports LAN multiplayer on PC and local wireless multiplayer on Nintendo Switch.
